Whilst searching for our next project I came across a property designed by Mel Gawi of Architeria Architects and was very impressed by his designs. When we purchased land to develop we approached Mel to put together a design for an apartment block. Within 4 weeks we were ready to submit to council. There were a few hiccups along the way but Mel went above and beyond to ensure we got a successful outcome. As a result we did not hesitate to give Mel our next development site to design. Design three contemporary townhouses on a small inner city block and obtain town planning approval from a notoriously anti-development council. We chose Mel and his team because of his outstanding designs and commitment to see the project all the way through to development approval. The Architeria team more than lived up to this promise, maximising the use of our block to design three outstanding townhouses and helping us to navigate the Council town planning process. The team supported us through the entire 18 month process, which included multiple revisions for Council and a submission to VCAT. Throughout this process, the team was responsive and quick to turnaround changes, worked closely with the town planner and provided invaluable advice and were ultimately able to secure a successful outcome for us. Kate and Mel are the first Architects I dealt with, and they really help me a lot with my first project and then my own house as well. Both my families like the design. What surprised me is the professional job, they are very quick. My first 40 apartments permit was done in 4 months and this shocks everyone! The most important thing is both of them help me more than as architects, they give me a lot advice as well. Also the other thing I have to say is, I can find Mel anytime, does not matter if it is late, in the middle of the night or during the weekend, I can always call him and bother him. Mel always answers with a lot of patience. Now I think Mel is a friend to me, and I will always work with him
